Double Luck Nudge Slots

Anyone who has played with the Novomatic brand will know that you need a lot of good luck to win - they don’t make anything easy for you. Don’t get us wrong, we like that they challenge us, but sometimes we want a break like anyone else. Enter Double Luck Nudge, a 1-winline, 3-reel slot machine that looks like an underdog if ever we’ve seen one.

Once again, and like many other real cash slots from them, this is an old school experience that we’d say is aimed more at veteran gamers. Novice users are more than welcome to play, as always, but they may find that this isn’t the most friendly brand to begin playing with. You’ll get limited paytables, hardly any flexibility from the matrix, and you have a steep starting wager. All in all it isn’t an accessible title for customers.

Purple Rain

We have a feeling that Prince would have loved the colour palette of this game because of how neon purple it is; it looks tacky, but it works with the theme at hand. Most vintage slots air on the side of cheesy iconography rather than going for high class, which makes sense as most of Vegas is made up of a lot of average casinos as well as high rollers. That being said, such a mundane interface isn’t for everyone.

One real positive out of this minimal slot machine is that you won’t become distracted by the background imagery. We’ve played so many real cash slots where we’ve just lost all interest in the gameplay, and become sucked into the background of the screen; they tend to be contemporary examples, as well as highly animated. Call us old fashioned, but when you’re gaming you don’t want to be looking everywhere else but the grid, you want your eyes on the prize.

Stick With What You Know

Having been fans of slot machines since we were in nappies, we’ve played a lot, seen a lot, and complained a lot, and what we’ve found is that you can’t beat Novomatic. At least not when you want an old school slot experience. There’s other brands that come close, such as Merkur, but they don’t quite deliver like this company can, though why that is we can’t say.

Therefore, we have a ton of titles you can choose from for when you’re done with the 3 reels of Double Luck Nudge, one of which is Bar 7s. As hard as it may be to believe, we’d say that this slot machine is even more classic than Double Luck, which is already hard to beat on the retro scale. Furthermore, you have a more enticing interface to play with rather than this overzealous purple fiend.

Up or Down

You’ve seen the arrows on some of the symbols, you just have to have as they’re so big that you’d have to be blind to miss them. They look like something to be fearful of, but we assure you that they’re there to make more spins go your way, like we hinted at in the beginning. If you have one of these symbols land above the winline, that symbol will either move up or down depending on which arrow it’s attached to.

This then means that you could end up with a combo win, even though it had looked like a loss to you only a second ago. We actually saw it in action, and while it’s not impressive to see, it does its job and gets you that win. Winning with Double Luck Nudge is tough because of the restricted legroom of the reels, not to mention the steep volatility, so having a feature on your side is always a plus. By the way, the minimum stake here is 40 coins, while the maximum is a decent 10,000!

Not That Lucky

When it comes to this slot, you do get double your luck, but don’t be fooled into thinking your luck is about to turn like the tide because it just isn’t. The title doesn’t guarantee anything. This is because of three reasons: lack of winlines, lack of reels, and the difficulty of the gameplay. But what do you expect when you play with Novomatic – they like to pile on the pressure and make you work for those large payouts, it’s why we love to hate them and hate to love them.
