Max Slider Slots

The name Max Slider is a tad deceiving, for it gives the sense that you can move about said slider to adjust the game play to your liking, but in fact that’s merely a ploy. The slider is fixed, a design detail that haunts you throughout the game. Okay, maybe we’re just being bitter, but the truth is that the game isn’t how you’d expect.

We had anticipated a shabby looking set of images, with an old school feel, but what we got was essentially a classic slot machine, but with a modern appearance; the fruits look juicy and plump, and the colors are vibrant. Of course that does mean that there’s not a lot to look at, as you’ve seen the icons a dozen times over, but at least it’s better the devil you know.

No Features

This is the part where we’ll find out who is here for the features and who isn’t, because we’re about to tell you that there’s no extra features whatsoever. Zip. For whatever their reasons, Merkur has created a pure game, with just 11 tiles available to pay out various sums of money.

It’s a bold move by them, and one that we’re not sure fully works, for the longevity of the game seems to have plummeted in the space of a few seconds. We’re not saying features are the be all and end all, but the higher the variance the more we’ll play because we won’t tire easily. But take that away from us, and after a couple of rounds we’ll have been there and done that, ready to move onto greener pastures.

Max Win

The Max Win Lottery tile is the best part of this real cash slot, as its rewards are far greater than the rest of the pay table. On the lowest entry point, a stake of 0.10, most of the symbols are priced between 0.20 and 10 credits, which we’ll all agree is rather pants. We’re not going to be booking any holidays with a final payout of 20 coins.

However, the Max Win comes in with juicier samples, of either 10, 20, 50, 100 or 2,000 credits, which is what we’re more interested in. Should you crank up your bet to the full amount, which is pretty affordable by the way, you’re options become either 1,000 or 2,000. We like those apples, very much thank you.

How Will You Gamble?

Max Slider may lack on many fronts, but it has two gamble options to satisfy your curiosity and misplaced bravery, and so the game starts to claw its way back into our good books. When you make a win, the spin button turns blue and suggests that you collect your winnings, while two green widgets will appear on either side. One is the classic card setup and the other a rather bland looking ladder.

The card game opens up in a whole new window, with a deck of cards spread out, face down. Buttons appear asking whether you’ll gamble on the red or on the black; it’s a very sophisticated setup, one of the best we’ve seen, actually.

In regards to the ladder, no new window will appear, but a black and orange ladder will spring up from the bottom of the screen, flashing between figures of money. Select it and it’ll fall on one amount, with your option next to try and click the sum just above it, thus doubling your win. Even though the motion of the round is slow paced, we never landed a win successfully. You can half the risk factor if you want, via the appropriate button, but you’ll have to ask yourself whether it’s worth it if you can’t go all in.

Maximum Enjoyment

Max Slider has a lot of joy inside its reels, making it a slot machine with a twist; it looks like it’s going to fail to deliver, then pulls a rabbit out its hat at the last minute.

There’s still a lot left to be desired after playing, and so we’re not about to sing from the rooftops about how great the title is. Nonetheless, it has clear aspects that make the game play worthwhile, like the counting slider and its large money prizes.
