Pharaoh’s Luck Slot

Discover the treasures of the sands in Pharaoh’s Luck, a 5-reel, 25-payline title from Australian software designers Eyecon that sets intrepid explorers on a quest for a maximum 10,000x jackpot.

Boasting a prize pick feature, substitute wilds that double winning paylines and an option to gamble any of your base game winnings for bigger rewards, Pharaoh’s Luck is an engaging title that faithfully sticks to its Egyptian-inspired theme. Available to play from as little as £0.01 per spin, the slot won’t bust your bankroll and still offers plenty of potential for huge wins when all 25 paylines are enabled.

Pyramid Selling

If you’ve read our reviews of other Eyecon slots, you’ll no doubt be aware that simplicity is something of a hallmark of the software provider. Pharaoh’s Luck certainly upholds this tradition with an incredibly easy-to-use interface that features two main buttons for adjusting your wagers.

The first is labelled “change bet” and lets you risk anywhere between £0.01 and £0.20 per line. The second button, meanwhile, is “change lines” and allows you to enable or disable any of the slot’s 25 total paylines. When these two factors are combined, it should be obvious that Pharaoh’s Luck is a game that can be played from as little as £0.25 or as much as £5 with all regular paylines enabled.

However much you choose to bet each spin, Pharaoh’s Luck allows you to get your hands on a maximum regular jackpot of 10,000x your stake for matching five wild symbols, with these special icons also doubling the value of any regular win they feature in. Further down the pay scale, players will also receive prizes for any three-of-a-kind, with some higher value icons even paying for pairs.

Desert Strike

While we’ve generally been impressed with the graphics that feature in most Eyecon games, it’s fair to say that Pharaoh’s Luck doesn’t really live up to their otherwise lofty standards. The colour palette used in the game is a bit drab, while the unique icons don’t particularly grab your attention.

What’s more, Pharaoh’s Luck is one of the few Eyecon slots we’ve seen that adopts the traditional Ace-through-9 playing card symbols, detracting from the game’s originality and leaving players with a fairly bland collection of icons. Although they will find various hieroglyphic symbols further up the pay scale, these too are lacking any real visual punch and result in the game feeling fairly half-baked.

The animations featured in Pharaoh’s Luck are, sadly, similarly lacklustre, with most symbols simply blinking on and off when a winning payline is completed and only the wild icon offering anything in the way of 3D visuals. All in all, this results in a pretty underwhelming overall package and leaves the game feeling like an Eyecon prototype that was put out long before they established their true style.

Treasures of the Sands

In terms of the features included in Pharaoh’s Luck, players will find a fairly limited offering when it comes to bonuses. Somewhat surprisingly for an Eyecon slot, the game does not feature any free spin incentives, with players instead relying on a prize pick feature to boost their base game wins.

Activated whenever three or more pharaoh mask scatter symbols appear anywhere on the reels, players will initially receive a prize of between 5 and 200x their total bet, with all icons on the screen then being replaced by masks. Players must then pick any three of the 15 masks available to reveal three different prize amounts, which are then multiplied together and added to the triggering bet.

Beyond this bonus round, however, Pharaoh’s Luck mostly relies on the strength of its substitute wilds and a gamble feature to keep players entertained. As we explained earlier, the former results in any winning payline being doubled when a substitute wild also features, while the latter enables players to double their bet up to a maximum of five times in a simple two-option picking game.

Ancient Relic

While Pharaoh’s Luck is a reasonable game when assessed purely on its own merits, it falls some way short of the high standards set by other Eyecon games. The lack of a free spins feature is particularly disappointing for a slot from the studio, while the presence of standard playing card symbols on the reels doesn’t showcase what the software providers are capable of when they run with a theme.
