Mermaid’s Pearl Slot

If the wonders of the deep have long since held your fascination, why not explore them in full by plunging into Mermaid’s Pearl – a 5 reel, 25 payline slot adventure from the design team at Eyecon?

Featuring an exciting aquatic theme that depicts all manner of ocean life on its reels, Mermaid’s Pearl is an instantly engaging title that lures players in with the promise of three separate bonus rounds. Playable from as little as £0.01 per spin, the game won’t break the bank but does offer some worthwhile prizes, with a top award of 3,000,000 coins when you use the gamble feature correctly.

Making a Splash

As is the tradition for Eyecon games, Mermaid’s Pearl is an incredibly straightforward slot to use, with two main buttons controlling the majority of your decisions. The first allows you to change your bet amount between £0.01 and £0.50 each spin, while the second enables you to alter the number of active paylines each game, with anywhere between 1 and 25 available for selection.

The upshot of this is that Mermaid’s Pearl can be played from anywhere between £0.01 and £12.50 per spin, but we’d recommend always investing at least £0.25 so that you can play with all of the paylines enabled. This will naturally result in more winning combinations and a greater chance of landing one of the slot’s three unique bonus features, boosting your overall return in the long run.

Whatever level of investment you choose to make, you’ll be gunning for a base game jackpot of 2,500x your stake for matching a dolphin icon on each of the game’s five reels. This can, however, be boosted whenever a starfish substitute wild is featured in your win, as this doubles any prize money.

Underwater Love

One of the things we really love about Eyecon games is that they always seem to feature an entirely unique cast of symbols on their reels – and Mermaid’s Pearl is certainly no exception. The slot does away with the regular Ace-through-10 playing card icons in favour of creating a consistent underwater theme that includes all manner of sea life, with the titular mermaid also present.

Unique symbols used in the game include nautilus shells, jellyfish, clownfish, angelfish, hermit crabs, octopi, turtles and dolphins, with the aforementioned mermaid acting as a free games scatter symbol, a seahorse triggering a bonus race game, a clam activating a pick-and-click feature and a starfish being the game’s substitute wild. All in all, it’s certainly a pretty consistent line-up of icons.

Beyond that impressive selection of symbols, Mermaid’s Pearl is also beautifully animated and features an underwater background depicting clear seas and coloured coral. Each feature in the game comes with its own unique visual representation, with the seahorse race being a particularly charming bonus round that ensures the slot breaks away from the confines of its base game reels.

Drowning in Bonuses

As touched upon above, there are three bonus features in Mermaid’s Pearl and all of them are fairly generous. Our personal favourite is the seahorse race, which is activated whenever three seahorse scatters appear anywhere on the reels. Once this happens, players will be taken to a new screen and asked to pick a horse to race, with its finishing position awarding a prize of up to 100x their stake.

The second feature is similar – if a little less fun – and is activated whenever three or more clam scatter symbols appear on the gameboard. When this happens, players will receive one, two or three picks based on how many clams feature in their win and will then be transported to a bonus screen where they must select from a number of clams to reveal cash prizes of up to 40x their stake.

The final feature, meanwhile, is a conventional free spins game that is activated whenever three or more mermaid icons appear in a single spin. This awards players with 15 bonus games and a prize multiplier that increases by one (up to maximum of 10x) whenever a black pearl icon appears.

Treasure of the Deep?

With its range of bonus rounds, valuable wild icons and an optional gamble feature, Mermaid’s Pearl is certainly an engaging Eyecon title that offers more variety than most conventional video slots.

Although the regular jackpot is not the biggest we’ve ever seen, the bonus rounds can be incredibly lucrative and this more than makes up for any barren base game runs players might experience.
