Everybody loves myths and legends filled with epic heroes triumphing over the forces of evil. From ancient civilisations to modern comic books, heroic figures are commonplace throughout human history.
The legend of the Amazons, the fierce female warriors, is one of the most famous and loved stories of all. EGT took the initiative to adapt the story into a slot game just as ambitious as the original story.
So let’s see what Amazons’ Battle has in store for us, and how to make the most of this epic creation…
Amazons’ Battle takes the players in hostile territory. The game is set to take place deep in the wild, in a jungle full of dangers and mysteries.
But the place is not devoid of beauty. The skies are mostly clear and the waning light evokes dusk. At ground level, the vegetation is lush and green, with intricate foliage and roots. The reels are simply floating above the scenery.
The jungle is a quiet place, no music to interrupt the game and the sound effects triggered after each win are discreet and rather brief. Overall, Amazons’ Battle has clear aesthetic qualities, but it isn’t perhaps as immersive or detailed as other EGT games such as Zodiac Wheel.
The game is played on five active reels, with a maximum of 30 paylines to bet on. You can begin by directing your attention to the side tabs on the left and right of the reels in order to select the number of paylines to activate: it can be 1, 5, 10, 20 or 30 paylines. You cannot any other number of paylines in between.
The next logical step is choosing a number of coins to bet per payline. Here again, several shortcuts at the bottom of the game screen are here to make your task easier. You can bet either 1, 2, 5, 10 or 20 coins per payline, and here again no other choice is available. Choosing the amount of your wager will set off the reels instantaneously. As always, you can gamble your latest wins by clicking the corresponding button. Your task will then be to guess the colour of a hidden card in order to double your wager. Playing several rounds is allowed, but keep in mind that the first mistake you make will put an end to the game – and to your newly acquired gold.
You can alternatively opt for the Autoplay mode thanks to the orange button on the left hand side. This will allow you to enjoy an uninterrupted game for as long as you wish – simply press the stop icon whenever you want to come back into single spin mode.
After every win, there is a chance that the random Jackpot Cards Bonus game will be triggered. In such event, flip over the facedown cards until you reveal three of the same suit. You will win the corresponding progressive jackpot amount, whose exact amount you can check in the appropriate display at the top of the screen.
You will find a total of nine basic symbols on the Amazons’ Battle paytable, most of which are directly related to the game universe of legendary female warriors.
Let’s start however with the symbols who have nothing to do with the Amazons. These slot game classics are the Jack, Queen, King and Ace in bright and sharp fonts. They do not pay much but adding up their prizes can amount to a lot of money in the end, so do not be too quick to dismiss them.
The second half of the menu contains a ferocious-looking Tiger and four of the mighty Amazons: a Brunette, a Red-Haired, a Dark-Haired and a Blonde. All of them look powerful and quite awesome, each slightly more valuable like the other.
The two last reel symbols bring to the game an extra element of surprise and excitement.
The first one is a Wild card, represented by a black Horse. It is a stacked symbol, meaning that it only appears in groups of three in a row, potentially covering a whole reel and substituting any basic symbol to create winning combos.
Finally, the Axe and Shield symbol is a stacked Scatter that can appear on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th reels. You will need seven or more of them anywhere on screen to trigger up to 15 free spins.
Amazons’ Battle is a well-design and fun slot game to play, with an original and epic universe. The stacked symbols add some extra thrills to the mix, but the cash rewards are overall rather low and you might run out of coins fast if you are not careful enough!
