The Lost Amulet Slots

Going off of the title alone, without having seen the graphics, you could mistake The Lost Amulet for an Egyptian themed online slot, however it’s in fact an Arabian themed activity, albeit in a liberal sense. In fact, if it wasn’t for the turban wearing symbol and the culturally specific buildings, we wouldn’t have been any the wiser. Not that that’s a problem, for having a less rigid design ushers in more players.

What will also attract potential gamers is the format of this slot because of the traditional approach that it takes. There are only 3-reels and 5 active lines, which while not exactly the same as old school physical slots, it’s a lot closer to retro gaming than modern.

Furthermore, in-keeping with the sense of being more conventional, very few extras are awarded to players here, in fact, aside from the large payouts, there’s none to really comment on.

Glittering Welcome

This is probably one of the rare occasions when an almost overzealous display of colours is acceptable; gemstones and amulets can take on various styles and patterns, and thus the setting of a game should reflect that. It’s fun, vibrant, and very psychedelic; a rich tapestry in which to navigate and win.

Even though the glittering background expands beyond that of the grid, there’s a clear sense of where the slot machine begins and ends, as if you’re sat in from of a land based machine. There’s defined edges and mechanic looking buttons, doing away with the possibility of becoming immersed in the gameplay. The game will still be entertaining, but the way it’s been designed will ensure you never truly get sucked in, as you can see the parameters in which you’re working.

The controls are found at the bottom of the screen, though the right hand side lists information regarding your win size and the number of credits you have left to play, which helps break the regimented layout up.

An Amulet of Fire and Passion

There are three gemstones, one character, a street scene, and two amulets to discover upon the reels, but only one is the lost amulet which the game refers to, and that’s the red jewelled symbol, decorated with a gold dragon. It’s the highest paying of all the symbols, bringing in €800 per three of them.

In the grand scheme of this title and online slots as a whole, as far as a high grossing tile amount goes, that figure isn’t unique or impressive. Yes, the money is a big win when pitted against a monetary gain of €10, but it’s not the same as say €100,000. Thankfully, there’s a redeeming feature of this symbol and the money associated with it: five matches will turn the cash prize into €3,200, which is classed as a Mega Win.

The Tools of Excavation

Seeing as the amulet is lost, and that you appear to be in strange lands far from home, the only way to get to the treasure is by digging into the earth and uncovering it. Luckily you don’t have to get mucky, and can merely start excavating by placing a wager of €1, which turns into €5 when every payline is triggered.

Surprisingly, despite the lack of features, gamers are able to bet as much as €500 per winline, which seems not only over confident but an unlikely figure that anyone will wish to pursue. This is probably one of the few times when such a diverse betting range isn’t necessary.

A Lost Cause

The Lost Amulet is a small and pleasant slot, but it’s little more than that, meaning you’ll probably retire it after one game; there’s just nothing to keep you glued to your screen or eager to gamble your cash.

As gamers, we can do without frills or fancy aesthetics, we can even do without the flash and bang of numerous features, but to have neither and then find that none of the rewards make up for that factor, seems very unfair.
