Lucky Clover Slot Machine

Four-leaf clovers are perhaps the ultimate symbol for good luck, and Lucky Clover by Casino Technology is literally covered in them. Will it bring you good luck? That depends on how you play the game.

This video slot game is a new take on an all-time classic theme, often associated with Irish folklore and represented well by slots such as Luck o the Irish. This time around, you have the chance to play from the comfort of your own home and enjoy some special features only possible on a computer.

To find out more about how to play Lucky Clover and how to make the best of its rule, read on our dedicated review and see if this game is for you.

Green Everywhere

Clovers are associated with the colour green, and so is luck. It should come to no surprise that Lucky Clover is basked in a green glow from top to bottom.

The background of the game is quite simple, with giant clovers covering most of it together with abstract green lines. The atmosphere is very brings and cheerful, but also static and very classic. No animations come to break the relative monotony.

The music and sound effects are also discreet and classic, a tribute to old-school slot games perhaps. Overall, Lucky Clover offers a predictable but somehow pleasant atmosphere, without much details but enjoyable nonetheless.

Rules that Go Straight to the Point

No time to waste setting up your game: the settings in Lucky Clover are simple and straightforward. There are five reels and only five possible paylines drawn across them.

Once you have decided on a game coin value, use either the side tabs that flank the reels or the switch below them to activate as many paylines as you would like. Use the switch next to it in order to set the amount of coins to bet per spin, and you are all set. Simply hit the blue Start button to get the game started. Once the reels have come to a stop, winning combinations on an activated payline will pay from left to right the corresponding cash reward. You may use the optional Gamble function to play a mini game against the computer: guess correctly the colour of a hidden card to double your earnings, and guess its suit to quadruple them! Repeat the operation as long as you dare, while keeping in mind that a mistake will take all your new coins away.

Another way to play is to use the Autoplay feature to let the game roll for as many spins in a row as you would like. By doing so, you will not be able to play the Gamble mini game.

Casino Classics

A quick look at the paytable of Lucky Clover is enough to realise that all the reel symbols are classics of the genre, a group of 11 very familiar faces in total.

We begin with the Apple, Peach, Plums and Cherries at the very bottom, quickly followed by the Bell and the Dollar Coin. All of them have a neat and classic design, guaranteed to be familiar to veteran players.

The last basic symbols are the Horseshoe and the Red Seven, the latter being worth 3000 times your original bet in the event of a five-of-a-kind combination on an activated payline! Not bad for sure, but there is a little more to Lucky Clover than meets the eye…

Special Symbols

The three last symbols bring a little extra each to the game, which is why they should probably be on your radar at all times.

First of all, there are two different Scatter symbols on the menu. One is a bunch of Bananas, worth only 20 times your bet regardless of their position on the reels. The second Scatter is the gold Star, following the same rules but worth a little more money.

Finally, the bright green Clover icon is the Wild card of the game, able to replace any other symbol apart from the Scatters. With it, you can create extra winning combinations anywhere, especially since it can randomly expand and cover the whole reel it shows up on. Wilds can only appear on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th reels.

A Classic Game for Nostalgic Players

Lucky Clover is an easy game to get started, it does not require much to understand its simply rules. The gameplay is straightforward and even beginner players will be able to get the gist of it in a matter of minutes – if not seconds.

More experienced players will probably regret the small number of paylines and the relatively uninspired double Scatters, which are fun to collect but not worth a lot of gold in the end.
