Fu Yang Slot Machine

In the Chinese zodiac, one animal that might not immediately seem like a particularly fortunate birth year is that of the sheet (or ram, or goat, depending on the source). But in reality, there are many positive connotations that come with this gentle creature. It is calm, cute, and a reminder of all of the beautiful things in the world. They care about other people and nurture them, but can be a bit shy. Essentially, they’re said to be likeable introverts – maybe not destined for greatness, but certain to be popular among their loved ones.

The sheep is the central figure in Fu Yang by Bally, one of the latest releases from the popular developer. Available in live casinos, this game features the same jackpot system seen in Hu Wang, which might make you think the two games are more or less clones of one another. But there are a lot of unique features on this machine, including a free spins round in which stacks can earn you some extra cash beyond your normal winnings.

Baa Ram Ewe

The Fu Yang video slot is a live casino game that features a golden ram as the main character. The cabinet features that powerful sheep at above the main gaming screen, and that’s also where you’ll find the entire pay table and most of the other information you need, along with the game’s four progressive jackpot amounts. The actual reels themselves are fairly simple, with crisp but basic artwork being placed up against a dark background for maximum contrast.

It’s easy to find this game offer alongside other penny slots, which makes this yet another machine that is primarily aimed at the low limit crowd. However, gamblers who want to spend more can choose from higher betting levels, though this isn’t really made for true high rollers. In addition, there’s no play for free version available, as this machine has yet to be remade for online casinos.

All the Wonders of China

The Fu Yang video slot is a five reel game with 30 paylines that uses a traditional 3x5 screen layout. As usual, the object of the game is to match identical symbols from left to right across your active lines, with three or more of a kind necessary to win prizes in most cases. The longer your matches are, the bigger the payouts you’ll walk away with.

As in many machines, the low level prizes come from matching up the popular card game symbols, starting with jacks and moving up through queens, kings, and aces. Larger prizes come from fireworks and flowers. The high-paying symbol is a fancy Chinese tassel, which can earn you up to 400 coins (multiplied by your betting level) should you manage to hit five in a row.

Sheering the Sheep

This game features three different special symbols, each of which gives you another way to earn some added rewards. First, there are the wild symbols, which act as substitutes. These can fill in for any of the normal prize winning icons in order to complete winning paylines, though they do not award their own prizes.

Next up are the rams themselves, which act as scatter symbols. If you can find all three on the same spin, you’ll be awarded with a prize equal to your spin bet, as well as eight free spins. During these free games, you’ll play on a special set of reels where stacked symbols are extremely common. Put together three or more stacks – even if they are not adjacent to each other – and you’ll earn small added prizes in addition to your normal wins.

Finally, hitting three jackpot emblems will start the progressive jackpot bonus feature. When this happens, you’ll be taken to a second screen where you’ll get to start clicking on icons to reveal one of four symbols, each of which is attached to a different jackpot. Once you match three of a kind, you’ll win the corresponding reward. These can range from the Mini Jackpot, which might be worth under $20, to the Grand Jackpot, which can pay out $5,000 or more.

Solid Gameplay, Underwhelming Bonus

Overall, there’s a lot to enjoy on the Fu Yang slot machine. The theme is a fun one, especially for those with interest in Chinese culture, and the four jackpots always provide plenty of tension and anticipation on every spin. The one part of the game that might disappoint players is the structure of the free spins game, as the bonus for hitting several stacks is very small, which can be underwhelming as a special feature. Still, the overall package is quite nice, making this a solid inclusion on any casino gaming floor.
