The Big Lebowski Slot Machine

Cinema fans always enjoy finding references to their favourite movies in their daily lives, and a video slot game entirely inspired by one of the most iconic contemporary movies is a welcome add-on to their collection.

The Big Lebowski is a slot game based on the eponymous 1998 "neo-noir crime stoner comedy" directed by the Cohen brothers. The game is filled with references to the movie, with plenty of bowling-related elements, and if you have seen the film then you will be transported right back to its quirky and unique universe.

If you have not, you can still enjoy slot game version of The Big Lebowski and the present review is here to help you put all chances on your side to win big at it!

Back at the bowling alley

In the movie, Jeff Bridges' character is an avid bowler and it should come as no surprise that the slot game version of this unique story takes places in a bowling alley as well.

The entire background of the game is a vast and realistic bowling alley, with the two main characters of the movie sitting at a table and staring directly into the players' eyes.

The commands of the game and the reels themselves are fully integrated into the game universe and the graphics are quite realistic. The Big Lebowski manages to bring the movie to life once again and create a familiar movie theme universe for players and fans of the film alike.

Put on your game face

We are not here to bowl, however, and despite the realism of the game universe this is indeed a video slot that we came here to play. So let's see how to navigate the commands and customise the settings.

The Big Lebowski is played on a classic 5-reel 25 payline setup, with fixed paylines. This means that you will play on all 25 paylines at all times, with no possibility to deactivate some of them. You can still, however, use the (+) and (-) buttons in order to adjust the amount of your wager, that is to say how much money you are betting on each payline. Once ready, click the big blue bowling ball marked Spin in order to set the reels into motion. Winning combinations that appear on a payline trigger a cash reward whose amount depends on the symbols and the amount of your wager. The higher you put on the table, the higher your potential reward becomes!

You may also use the Autospin function to let the reels spin on their own for a predefined amount of time. Click on the corresponding shortcuts on the lower right-hand side of the reel frame to enjoy an uninterrupted game!

What's on the menu

The reel symbols in The Big Lebowski are all inspired by the universe of the film, from the bottom to the top of the paytable.

We begin with classic card symbols from number 10 and all the way up to the Ace. These icons pay the least but will show up frequently on the reels, drawn on colourful bowling balls of course.

The rest of the paytable is made up by the main characters of the movie: The Dude, Walter Sobchak, Maude Lebowski, Donny Kerabatsos and Jesus Quintana, all of which many players will immediately recognise. Combinations of identical character symbols are worth a lot of cash so keep your eyes peeled for these familiar faces!

Extra features

The Big Lebowski is filled with extra bonuses here to spice up your game and help you win big.

The old yellow Car of The Dude is the Wild card of the game, here to substitute any of the basic characters and help create extra winning combinations acrosee the reels. When it appears on the third reel, the Car expands and covers it entirely if a win (or more) is possible.

Any spin that does not yield a win triggers a Spare Free Spin to give you one more chance to land a cash reward. A .nice and friendly touch! The last symbol is a red Tin Can, a Bonus icon triggering an extra game when two Cans land on the first and fifth reels simultaneously. In the mini game, your goal is to pick several items to reveal Multipliers.

A quality tribute to the film

The Big Lebowski is an iconic film and perhaps now and iconic slot game as well. As for every thematic game, it is mainly targeted towards players who have seen the movie and many of the jokes and references will probably be lost on you if you have not. However, the random progressive jackpot on its own is a great argument for the game: you get a chance to land it after every spin!
